The Book I Thought I Would Never Write…

But…it was God’s assignment for me—so, I did it!

Welcome to the ministry and message of The 12th Mile: When Hard Becomes Harder Still! Thank you for running with me on this journey.

Today is World Mental Health Day! What a great time to start our run together! Many of you know some of my story and how God called me to run for him—at age 47! Running was my preparation for a much harder race: walking through years of chronic mental illness.

With 970 million people in our world struggling with some mental health challenge, the road is far from seldom traveled. I am committed to doing what I can to increase engagement and conversation in this area of our physical health. In my new book: The 12th Mile: When Hard Becomes Harder Still, I share our family’s story with honesty, humor, and hope. It’s about parenting, caregiving, running, and most of all, about how God meets us in the “harder still.” The book is set to be released during the first quarter of 2026. I believe its message will be a help to many…perhaps to you or someone you care about.

Would you consider, when the time comes, being one of my very first readers? Perhaps it will inspire you to share it with someone who may need to know that they are not alone! I would love your help. I need your help to do just one thing—Share.

Let’s Run.
